Also called a Mother Blessing or Blessingway Ceremony, a Blessingway Ritual is a sacred gathering of your closest family and friends in which YOU are honored, loved, supported, and cherished as a part of your preparation for labor. While a baby shower is more focused on the Baby and the physical things you will need to care for them once they are born, a Blessingway Ritual is focused on the Mother or Birthing Parent and their emotional, mental, and spiritual preparation for labor.
Traditionally, this ritual is held with you and your female or female-identifying family and friends. Whether you choose to follow in this tradition or not, the Great Goddess energy and maternal ancestral lines are called upon during the ritual.
While this is traditionally an Indigenous ceremony, I hold the space and base the rituals in a Wiccan tradition, as that is the spirituality that is authentic to me. Any spiritual or religious rituals that are authentic to you can be included as well.
We will begin by cleansing our energy fields with sacred smoke and calling in our Guides and Ancestors. We will then move through:
Any other rituals that you want to include can be added as well!
